Drew Smith joined News13 as a digital journalist in May 2011. He grew up outside of Boston, MA and graduated with a degree in journalism from Elon University in Elon, NC. Drew comes to News 13 from WFMY-TV in Greensboro where he was a freelance producer. During his time at Elon, Drew also completed internships at NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and New England Cable News. He was the news director at Elon’s student-run newscast, Phoenix14News. He helped lead the organization to several awards including a College Television Award from the Emmy foundation. Drew loves the beach and meeting new people. He looks forward to making the Grand Strand home.
