I came to South Carolina from many stops in the South. Born and raised in Connecticut, I moved to Daytona Beach, Florida for college at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. There I received my Bachelors of Science in Applied Meteorology with a Communications minor. Living in Florida I experienced hurricanes first hand, evacuating for both Hurricane Charley and Frances in 2004.
I came to Myrtle Beach from Dothan, Alabama. Dothan is in the Southeast corner of the state and is an hour from the Gulf Beaches. I worked as Meteorologist for four and a half years. There I received significant hands on experience with not only severe weather, but also hurricane coverage and even snowfall in the South.
I love all weather, but I find myself always heading back near a beach. Hurricane coverage is a passion of mine. I have received two Associated Press Best Weather Anchor awards, and also have my National Weather Association Broadcasters Seal of Approval.
While not at work, you can find me outside running, or on the beach. If the water is warm enough I love to surf. I have an Old Country Bulldog named Dug, he’s 100 lbs, and a mutt named Leo, as well as the most spoiled cat in the world, Josie. Fun fact about me, I have a twin brother, as well as a younger sister.
I’m happy to be a South Carolinian and look forward to meeting everyone here!
