JOHNSONVILLE — The Johnsonville boys’ basketball team has waited a long time for this opportunity.
Erion Black scored 13 points Tuesday night and Aaron Mack added 11 to lead the Flashes over Latta, 63-53, sending Johnsonville to the Class A lower state championship game for the first time since 1981.
The Flashes play Burke at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Florence Civic Center.
The Flashes led by just one at halftime and slowly pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Vikings by four in the third and by five in the fourth.
Tysean Burgess scored 13 points and Donell Stanley added 11 points to lead Latta.
