JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Christian Garcia pitched 6 1/3 strong innings, and the Florence-Darlington Tech offense erupted in a 12-1 win over St. John’s River State on Saturday.
Garcia went 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits while striking out nine in the win.
Matt Rubino and Tyler Crocker each homered for the Stingers, and Randon Sandifer and Gabe Craven each had three hits in the win.
Tori Patterson and Brad Barwick each drove in two runs.
On Friday, the Stingers split a doubleheader with Daytona State, losing 9-5 and then winning the nightcap 6-5 in a rain-shortened game.

Stingers sweep Stanly
FLORENCE — The Florence Darlington Tech run-ruled Stanly Community College in a doubleheader, winning 8-0 in the first one and 9-1 in the second.
In the opener, Spencer Embler picked up the win and also had two hits and an RBI. Marlboro County’s Keeley Sutton drove in three runs and Rebecca Richards added two.
In the second game, Lake View’s Amber Suggs got the win and also added two hits and three RBI. Alexandria Simmons drove in two runs for the Stingers, who will play in the Aiken Tech tournament Friday and Saturday.
