HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Andrew Morris led four players in double figures with 24 points as Coker defeated Belmont Abbey 81-62 on Saturday.
Morris netted 18 of his 24 points from long range, while Julian Nelson had 15 points. Austin Harper added 12 points and Sharod Williams chipped in 10 points.
The Cobras held the Crusaders to just 19 points in opening half with solid defense and timely shooting.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Coker 81, Belmont Abbey 61
HARTSVILLE - Jessica Cohen picked up her second straight double-double and her third consecutive game scoring more than 20 points in the Cobras’ win over Crusaders.
Cohen finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Cobras controlled the pace of play from the very beginning as they caused 24 Abbey turnovers and shot nearly 50 percent from the floor.
Amber Lau had a game-high 24 points, half of which came from three-point range, while Hailey Yohn added 15 points.

Cobras split with Anderson
HARTSVILLE — The Coker baseball team spilt their non-conference doubleheader with Anderson University, losing 11-2 in the opener and winning 4-3 in the night cap.
In the opener, junior center fielder Chad Nader went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, while senior right fielder Jake Frazier drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Sean Tracy took the loss.
In game two, junior lefty Dan Meyer struck out seven to pick up the complete-game win.
Junior shortstop Keith Wolf went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
SOFTBALL
Jenkins’ blast helps Cobras to split
HARTSVILLE — Darlington’s Kantesha Jenkins hit a two-run walkoff homer to lift Coker to a 13-11 win over Wingate in the second game of a doubleheader.
Coker lost the first game, 5-4.
In the second game, Coker led 8-4 going into the seventh before the Bulldogs scored seven runs. But the Cobras scored five in the bottom of the inning, capped off by Jenkins’ homer.
Jenkins finished the game with three hits.
Sydney Weatherford had two homers and five RBI in the game for the Cobras. She also hit a homer in the first game.
Jordan Atkinson went 2/3 of a inning in relief to pick up the win for Coker.
