Dillon Jamie Callahan has been named one of Baseball America’s Top 100 high school seniors in the country.
The right-handed pitcher was ranked 49th on the list, which was released Tuesday. The South Carolina signee went 3-2 with a 3.88 ERA last season in 12 appearances for the Wildcats. He struck out 87 batters and walked just 25 in 49 innings.
Callahan, who played first and third base when he wasn’t pitching, also hit .431 with seven homers and 26 RBI in earning all-state honors.
The Baseball America honor is just the latest for Callahan to receive. Perfect Game ranks him as the No. 1 high school player in South Carolina, and Diamond Prospects ranks him as the top right-handed high school pitcher in the state.
Outfielder Byron Buxton, from Baxley, Ga., is the top-ranked prospect on the list. The complete list can be viewed at www.baseballamerica.com .

Bostick earns second-team SAC honors
Former West Florence standout and Newberry receiver Brandon Bostick was named to the second team of the South Atlantic Conference football squad.
Bostick finished his career near the top of the Newberry College record books in every receiving category with 136 receptions (fourth), 1,935 yards (third) and 19 touchdowns (second). Bostick had 35 catches for 439 yards and seven touchdowns this season, as well as nine carries for 58 yards and a touchdown. His eight touchdowns led the Wolves in scoring this season.
Dillon native Price up for Burlsworth Trophy
Clemson offensive tackle Phillip Price has been one of 50 players nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding football player in America who began his career as a walk-on .
Price walked on to the football program after not receiving a scholarship coming out of Dillon Christian. But he has worked his on to the field and has been a starter at left tackle this season.
