LAKE CITY, SC -- Lake City High School’s Quinn McClam has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Claflin University in Orangeburg.

McClam, a 2011 graduate of Lake City High, earned All-Region VII-AA honors while playing second base and batting leadoff for the Region Champion Panthers.  For the 2011 campaign, the senior batted .386 with 18 runs scored, eight runs batted in, and an on-base percentage of .597.

Quinn is that kid, the first time you meet him, you just know he will be successful,” stated Lake City Head Coach Matt Apicella.  “He is the consummate team player and blends exceptional athleticism, fierce competitiveness, and a high baseball IQ.  Claflin is getting a good player and a great kid.”

McClam is the son of Andre and Shasha Tamplin and David Wilson.
