WILMINGTON, DE (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach’s offensive awakens on Tuesday putting up six runs, matching their runs total from their previous five games, on way to a 6-2 win over Wilmington on Tuesday night.

Pelicans starter Justin Grimm threw six innings of one-run ball, striking out eight Blue Rocks batters. After allowing a 3rd inning solo home run, Grimm retired the next 11 batters he faced.

Pelicans outfielder Jared Prince went 3-5 to raise his batting average to .278.

Shortstop Leury Garcia was activated from the disabled list from a shoulder injury and went 0-6.

The Pelicans, who have not won a road series since June 26-28 at Salem, can achieve at least a series split and a victory in the season series with Wilmington Wednesday night at Frawley Stadium. Myrtle Beach sends left-hander Chad Bell (3-2, 3.13) against fellow southpaw Justin Marks (7-8, 4.37) with first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m.
