MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – The Pelicans drop a second straight against Lynchburg 3-2 on Wednesday at BB&T Coastal Field.
The Pelicans were doomed by hitting into four double-plays.
Lynchburg scored in the first inning on an RBI ground-out and extended the lead with an L.V. Ware single in the second frame. Myrtle Beach starter Kennil Gomez (2-5) allowed three runs on eight hits in his five-inning start.
Chris Masters (9-5) held the home team to one run in five and one-third innings for the win. With a win tomorrow night the Hillcats earn a three-game sweep and a 10-10 split of the season series.
The series finale is Thursday night as Lynchburg aims for the sweep. Justin Grimm (4-2, 3.84) goes for the Pelicans against Lynchburg’s David Hale (3-6, 4.50).
