Diehard Giants fans renting jet for NFC game

NEW YORK — A group of diehard New York Giants fans is renting a private jet to take them to the NFC Championship game in San Francisco.

Manhattan executive William Powers tells the New York Post he and seven friends will spend about $7,000 apiece for the two-day trip.

The rental of the private Falcon 50 jet is $42,000. Other expenses include rooms at the Ritz-Carlton and tickets to Sunday's game.

Powers says there's no way he'd miss the game. He says he never thought his favorite team would make it this far.

The group plans to leave New York on Saturday and return after the game Sunday.

If the Giants win and go to the Super Bowl, Power says he and his buddies will fly privately again to Indiana.
