The Myrtle Beach Pelicans open their 2012 season against the Wilmington Blue Rocks on April 6.
The game is part of a 140-game schedule featuring 70 home games. The Pelicans play home games on Easter weekend (April 6-8), Mother's Day (May 13), Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27), Father's Day (June 17), Independence Day Eve (July 3) and Labor Day weekend, (September 1-3).
The Carolina League lineup undergoes one change in 2012. The Carolina Mudcats replace the Kinston Indians, which were sold and moved to Zebulon, N.C. The Mudcats are now aligned with the Cleveland Indians. The Carolina club previously competed in the Double-A Southern League, but that club was sold and relocated to Pensacola, Florida.
The Carolina League's Southern Division now includes Carolina, Myrtle Beach, Salem and Winston-Salem. The Northern Division includes Frederick, Lynchburg, Potomac and Wilmington.
Pelicans 2012 home games will begin at 7:05 Monday-Saturday and at 6:05 on Sundays. The Mother's Day game begins at 3:05.
