COLUMBIA– At this weekend’s Too Tough to Tame 200 race in Darlington, you’ll catch a glimpse of a familiar instate brand speeding around the oval.
Chris Lafferty, driver of the #89 Chevy in the NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series, will have the South Carolina Education Lottery logo painted on his hood.
“The South Carolina Education Lottery logo is going to look great on Chris’ truck,” said the Lottery’s Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. “NASCAR® and the Education Lottery make for a winning combination, and we know Chris will represent our brand well.”
The South Carolina Education Lottery is Lafferty’s primary sponsor for this weekend’s race. Lafferty and his red #89 Chevy will also be on hand for NASCAR® fans to enjoy at the Lottery’s promotional events for the May Nationwide and Sprint Cup races at Darlington.

In fiscal year 2009-2010 alone, the South Carolina Education Lottery transferred more than $272 million to educational programs. Since the Lottery began in 2002, more than $2.2 billion has been transferred to the Education Lottery Account to benefit South Carolina’s students. The South Carolina Education Lottery remains committed to supplementing educational funding in South Carolina through fun and entertaining games offered to adults.
Lafferty Motorsports is primarily involved in the NASCAR® Camping World Truck Series, but the team also builds engines and has a driver development program. In May, Lafferty will begin a new, late-night television show titled “The Last Lap with Chris Lafferty.” The racing themed show will air locally in North and South Carolina.
