Felton basketball camp returns to Mullins

Over 150 participants arrived at Mullins High School for the annual Raymond Felton Basketball Camp.

MULLINS -- The Fifth Annual Raymond Felton Basketball Camp is returning to Mullins High School June 14-17.

The camp for children ages 6-15 days of camp from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The sessions include a gift bag, T-Shirts and include instruction, drills and games at a cost of $100. Felton will assist with the camp and NBA stars are expected to attend.

The Charlotte Bobcats point guard was a 2005 NBA Lottery Draft pick after leading the University of North Caroina’s Tar Heel basketball team to a NCAA national championship. Felton also helped lead the Bobcats to it’s franchise first playoff appearance in his fifth season.

“I’ve seen kids out here since the first year and they’re playing better. It’s also good to see the newcomers,” said Felton at during this past year’s camp event. The importance of hard work and dedication on and off the court is something Felton said he wants the campers to develop. “Most definitely I want them to believe in themselves,” he said.
