HARTSVILLE — Matthew Kearns had four hits and Florence’s Michael Rogers struck out as the Coker baseball team defeated Clarion 12-4 on Monday.
On the year Coker is 12-10, while the loss drops Clarion to 1-2.
Kearns had three RBI and scored three runs for the Cobras, who combined to score seven runs between the sixth and seventh innings.
Rogers (2-1) earned the win going seven strong innings, allowing four runs on seven hits.
Daniel Hiatt was 3-for-5. Trey Lynch had two RBI on an inside the park home run, while scoring two runs, and Jesse Crockett finished the day with two hits including a home run with two runs scored.
Jordan Buenting drove in two runs.
Coker returns to the diamond Wednesday, when it hosts Alderson Broaddus in a non-conference game starting at 2 p.m.
