HAMPTON, Va. – Kes Carter had three hits, including the game-winning single in the ninth inning to lift Peninsula to a 6-5 win over Florence on Saturday in Coastal Plain League action. The win drops Florence to 25-16 on the season. The RedWolves will host Columbia today at 6 p.m.
Florence trailed 5-4 going into the eighth inning but tied it on John Frost’s RBI single to score Ethan Santora.
Ronnie Freeman hit two homers and had three RBI for Florence in the losing effort. Peter Mooney added three hits for the RedWolves.
Patrick Dolan (2-3) took the loss.
