FLORENCE -- On signing day, Wilson had one player return to school to sign to the next level, and four seniors put their names down on the dotted line.
Traneir Fraiser spent the last year at Fork Union junior college, but the linebacker decided to transfer after just one season. After drawing some interest from South Carolina, Fraiser decided to go to Gardner-Webb.
In addition to Fraiser, Wilson quarterback Maleik McCall signed with Johnson C. Smith University and offensive lineman Kaleb Carter signed to Winston-Salem State. Also two Tigers, James Woodberry and Decar Brown chose to be preferred walk-ons at South Carolina State. As preferred walk-ons, they may have an opportunity to earn a scholarship down the road with the Bulldogs.
McCall was 2009 All-Region 6 AAA and 2007 All-Region 6 AAA. He passed for over 2,700 yards and 20 touchdowns and also rushed for 1,003 yards and 12 TD’s.
Carter was a 3 year starter and 2008 and 2009 All-Region 6 AAA, plus 2009 AAA All-State. Carter was a 2009 North-South All-Star and on the 2009 All-Pee Dee Team.
Decar Brown was a 3 year starter at defensive end and led team in QB sacks in the 2009 season.
James Woodberry 3 year starter at linebacker and led team in tackles for the 2009 season (91). He was also 2009 All-Region 6 AAA.
