HARTSVILLE - Lees-McRae’s Berin Boracic tallied all three goals , as the fourth-ranked Bobcats defeated the No. 23 Coker 3-1 on Saturday.
The victory keeps the Bobcats perfect on the year, 7-0 overall and 3-0 in conference, while the loss gives the Cobras drop to 7-1-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Boracic notched his first goal of the afternoon at the 29-minute mark with a blast from 25 yards out. Less than minutes later, Boracic struck again, this time he took a shot just inside the penalty area that tipped off a Coker defended past the Cobra keeper James Sweeney.
After the break the Cobras came out firing and finally got on the board with a goal from senior Mike Crook in the 49th minute off a penalty kick. The Cobras continued to apply heavy pressure, but were unable to get anything past the Bobcats Sean Paradise in goal.
Boracic secured the Bobcat victory in the 61st minute with his third goal.
