Quinton Teal might be making his second start Sunday when the Carolina Panthers face Atlanta.
The former Marlboro County standout is likely to start at strong safety for Chris Harris, who missed his third straight practice Friday.
Harris was a late scratch from the opening loss to Philadelphia with a sore left knee.
Teal made his first career start last week and had five tackles.
Another Pee Dee player, Lawrence Timmons, will likely make his season debut Sunday for the Steelers.
Timmons (high ankle sprain) is expected to play against the Bears, although it is uncertain whether he will start. Timmons was injured Aug. 22 against Washington and wasn't in uniform against Tennessee on Sept. 10, when Keyaron Fox took his place.
The former Wilson standout left practice early Wednesday and didn't sound optimistic about playing, but went through full practices Thursday and Friday.
