Kady's goal lifts Patriots

»  Comments | Post a Comment

FLORENCE — Freshman forward Kelly Kady scored on a 15-yard shot as the first-half horn sounded to give Francis Marion University a 1-0 win over Presbyterian College on Sunday in non-conference women’s soccer action.

The win was the first of the year for the Patriots (1-6-0) and the first career victory for first-year head coach Joel Person. Presbyterian falls to 2-4-0.

With the final 10 seconds of the first half being counted down, senior Jennifer Dyer served the ball from the right side to Kady at the top of the box. Her shot then crossed the goal line just as the horn
sounded to end the stanza. For Kady, who was playing in only her sixth career match, it was her first score.
