Carolina Forest's Marlon Horton watched Wednesday's practice with his arm in a sling. The pain he's feeling right now in his shoulder is eased a bit knowing he led his team to their first win since 2007 on Friday.
Horton is doubtful for the Panthers game against Goose Creek with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. Horton suffered the injury in the second quarter of Forest's game against North Myrtle Beach Friday. He returned, and led the Panthers to the game-tying touchdown and two-point conversion with under two minutes left. Horton then led the offense to the game-winning touchdown in overtime.
The win broke a 13 game losing streak, spanning back to when Carolina Forest beat North Myrtle Beach in the 2007 finale.
Sophomore Danny Daly will fill in for Horton if he cannot play Friday. Goose Creek is one of the best teams in AAAA this year.
