The Mullins Auctioneers forced eight Marion Swamp Foxes fumbles, recovering six in route to a 28-7 victory in the final regular season game.

Aucs strong safety Cey’Quan Ritter recovered the first fumble, taking it to the house for a 30-yard touchdown at the 10:48 mark in the first quarter.

The Swamp Foxes answered the bell after quarterback Ross White connected with Jeremy Curry on a 35-yard pass play, setting up a 27-yard touchdown pass to Deonte Johnson, evening up the score 7-7 at the 2:48 mark. John Williams added the PAT

However, the Aucs struck back with a 67-yard scamper from running back George Page with 3:03 remaining in the second half.

Quarterback B.J. Crawford added another damaging blow with a 29-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Cedric Timmons, giving Mullins a 21-7 advantage at halftime.

In the second half the Foxes turned the ball over four times.

Page later sealed the game with a 9-yard touchdown run with 1:41 left to play in the game.

Auctioneer Head Coach Miles Aldridge said he was happy for his players, winning the second annual Tobacco Bowl trophy, sponsored by Anderson Brothers Bank.

“This has always been something we’ve been working for and I'm happy our kids got the opportunity know what this feels like,” he said.

The victory places Mullins in a three-way tie for third place in Region 8-2A and gives the squad the needed advantage to crack the playoffs for the first time in three seasons.
According to a points allowed system, Mullins has allowed the least amount of points and are the number three seed in the Class 2A playoffs. Marion finishes as the number four seed based on their previous victory over Loris.

Page finished with 81 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while linebacker Antonio Anderson register 8 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.
