FLORENCE — Freshman hitter Liz Drewry pounded out eight kills and served five aces to help lead Francis Marionto a 25-13, 25-16, 25-17 sweep of Queens.
FMU evens its overall record at 9-9, while Queens falls to 6-17.
Sophomore Ashlyn Underhill also had eight kills and 10 digs for the Patriots. Both she and Drewry only committed one attack error apiece in a combined 38 swings. Junior libero Kelsie Deaton dug up a season-high 28 balls, while setters Jess O’Leary (19) and Hallie Legg (11) combined for 30 assists.

Patriots compete at Furman
GREENVILLE — The Francis Marion men’s and women’s cross country teams finished 10th and 14th, respectively at the Furman University Invitational Meet.
The two Patriot squads also placed fifth (men) and seventh (women) in the South Carolina Intercollegiate Championship Meets, which were run and scored simultaneously with the Furman meet.
Senior Hillary Kiprop paced the FMU men in the Furman Invitational with a 35th-place finish with a time of 28:38. The Patriot women were led by Amanda Doyle with a 44th-place showing in the Furman event.
