CONWAY — The Coastal Carolina women’s basketball team’s 21-0 first half run to helped lead them to an 81-46 win over Coker on Sunday.
Coastal improves to 4-2 on the season and is a perfect 35-0 in the all-time series versus Coker. With the loss, the Cobras fall to 0-5 on the season.
The Chanticleers held the Cobras to a 10 minute scoring drought and just 17 points in the first half as the Chanticleers were ahead by 34 at the break.
The Cobras got within 42-27 at 15:22, the closest they would come to the Chanticleers.
Coming off the bench, sophomore Olivia Irick took over the scoring for the Chanticleers, scoring 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half.
Lotta Aaltonen led the Cobras with 15 points and went over 1,000 points for her career. Coker was held to 31.3 percent from the field, and the Chants forced 23 Cobra turnovers.
Irick had a game-high 16 points, shooting 7-of-8 from the field. Moss followed by adding 14 points and seven rebounds while Stull added 13 points and two rebounds. The Chants shot 55.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Coastal out rebounded Coker 37-31 and scored 30 points off of turnovers.
Coker is at Belmont Abbey on Tuesday.
