Super Mario is advancing to the next level, and wants to go to Coastal Carolina.
Myrtle Beach product Eddie "Super Mario" Jones has told CCU assistants that he wants to enroll their for January and spring ball. Jones had received interest from FBS schools South Carolina and Marshall, but he only had offers from Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern. GSU fired their coach this weekend, and Monday Jones informed assistant coach Hunter Spivey that he decided on Coastal.
Jones spent last year at Coffeyville Junior College in Kansas, but redshirted and then transferred to Horry Georgetown Tech to get his grades up. He was hoping to have the opportunity to then transfer to an FBS school, but believes he can help the Chanticleers right away.
Jones played running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and a little bit of quarterback at Myrtle Beach High School. At 5'8", 180 pounds, Jones is either a scatback or a small slot receiver at the next level.
