Johnakin Middle School cheerleaders win competition

The Johnakin Middle School cheerleaders won first place in the Middle School Division of the Warrior Cheer Classic at Waccamaw High School on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The Johnakin Middle School cheerleaders won first place in the Middle School Division of the Warrior Cheer Classic at Waccamaw High School on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The squad beat Whittemore Park Middle School by 12 points and Conway Middle School by 27 points.

The Johnakin Middle School cheerleaders place third in the Conway Cheer Challenge cheer competition at Conway High School Oct. 24. This was the last competition of the year for the Johnakin cheerleaders.

Members of this year's squad are: Captain Courtney Perkins; Co-captain Sarah Dellinger; 8th graders: Arbre'ya Lewis, Ariana Lewis, Carla Morgan; 7th graders: Destiny Genwright, Monica Moody, Morgon Rogers, Katie Calder, Vinniesha Phillips, Aneisha Rowell, Raven Platt, M'kala Blue, and Shanequa Bethea. Mrs. Vickie Skipper is the coach.
