Lady Foxes soccer coaches Stacye Drose and Michael Steinbar lead a program that is committed to developing players and creating more exposure for the sport. Drose just wrapped up her eleventh season on sidelines for the 12-year old program.

Putting records aside, Drose puts a focus on her players’ efforts to their best on the field.
“Although our record does not indicate a winning season, these girls are all winners in my eyes. I know that every player played with heart, determination and effort,” she said, adding that she encourages her players to give 110 percent.

“On the field we got great leadership from our seniors,” Drose said. Cayle Levy, Whitney Williams and foreign exchange student Isabela Ribeiro set the tone as seniors. Goalkeeper Grace DeMarco did an amazing job keeping her team in contention during close games, getting support from her coaches for a job well done on the season.

Offensively, Melanie McGrath, Ashley Humphrey, and Hannah Maddox were major contributors. Brittany Drose provided toughness on defense, while freshmen Weslyn Burroughs, Jessica Coleman, Kayla Drose, and Alexis Johnson earned starting roles on the squad. In fact, Drose led the team in goals scored. Casey Henry, Kaylynn Moore, Carmen Bullard, and Erica Hood also all were valuable contributors, according to Coach Drose.
Humphrey, Levy, McGrath, Burroughs, and DeMarco were named to the all-region team.

“I am already very excited about next year because, if they all remain committed to soccer, we will have 13 returning players with only two seniors,” she said about the outlook on next season.
Swamp Fox boys soccer Head Coach Jana Kramer’s squad enjoyed a playoff run with her squad, winners of eight games on the year and a second place finish in the region.

“I am very proud of this year's team. We had a great group of seniors that have provided great leadership for the whole team,” Kramer said

Kramer said Ja’Colgan Mack has been an amazing goalkeeper for the program with multiple shutout victories. Mack played stifling defense with 130 saves.
Corey Herring and Eugenio Perez have been making plays happen on the offense and our defense is lead by seniors Joey Sanders, TJ Taylor, Dipan Patel and freshman John Crawford,” she said of the team, adding that sophomore John Williams has been a great all-around soccer player.
Brian Trail, Daniel Mata and John Williams scored six goals each during the season, along with five goals scored by Bernard Nichols.

Herring, Perez, Mack, Williams and Sanders were named all-region.

MHS boys soccer roster includes: BJ Farmer, John Williams, John Crawford, Josh Sarvis, Joey Sanders, Zi Huang, Eugenio Perez, Daniel Mata, Corey Herring, Cody Bullard, Brain Trail, Dustin Godbolt, Dipan Patel, Marqui Moore, Beraj Hira, TJ Taylor, Ja'Colgan Mack, Charles Williams and Bernard Nichols.

The Marion girls soccer team fights hard for the victories by putting in the effort until the time clock expires.
