FLORENCE — Ashley Young, Abby Yarborough, Hillary Beckett and Logan Irick all collected an RBI as South Florence captured the District VI championship with a 4-0 win over North Augusta on Wednesday in softball.
Kaiti Harper allowed seven hits in seven innings to pick up the win for the Bruins. She was assisted by her defense, which turned in two double plays and an outfield assist.
Jasmine Holliday also scored two runs for South.

CROSS — Behind a complete game from Morgan Mason, the Latta Vikings wrapped up a win over Cross on Wednesday in a game that was suspended by rain on Monday.
The game was suspended with Latta leading 6-1 with no outs in the fifth inning.
In her seven innings, Mason gave up four hits, walked one and struck out 11.
Dorothy Rogers was 3-for-4 with a triple, a home run and two RBI. Kate Allen was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI.

HEMINGWAY — Whitney Baxley’s sixth inning triple, her second of the game, brought home the winning run as Carvers Bay captured the District VI championship for the first time in school history.
Brittany Owens allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings to pick up the win. Her fielder’s choice also brought home an insurance run in the sixth.
Carson Cagle was 3-for-3 with a double for the Bears.
