LAKE VIEW — Zach Allen hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game, then took home on a delayed steal as Lake View came back to win a weather-delayed District V elimination baseball game against East Clarendon, 8-7 on Wednesday.
The Wild Gators scored five runs in the final half inning to erase a 7-3 deficit. Allen’s two-out double was the fifth hit of the inning for Lake View.
After Allen’s double, East Clarendon attempted to gun down the Lake View runner stealing second. Allen then took off and beat the throw home from the second baseman for the winning run.
