Coker golf finishes 11th in super regional

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. — The Coker golf team moved up three spots and finished 11th in the final round of the Division II South/Southeast Super Regional at the Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals.

Coker finished with a three-day total of plus-27 (891) and were tied with West Florida.

Jared Crane (minus-1) led the Cobras and tied for sixth. The rest of the scores were Diego Polo (plus-12), John Ladow (plus-12), Chris Marsh (plus-13) and Jimmy Gillam (plus-18).

North Alabama (plus-5) won the regional by one shot over Lynn University. The top five teams qualified for Division II championships May 19-22 at Loomis Trail Golf Club in Blaine, Wash.

The other three teams to qualify were Barry University, Columbus State and Valdosta State.

North Alabama’s Jake Greer (6-under) took medalist honors by three shots over Barton’s Jonathan Burke.
