MARION — Brandi Driggers’ RBI single in the seventh broke a 1-1 tie and gave East Clarendon a 2-1 win Monday against Marion in high school softball.
Audrey Watford walked to lead off the seventh, took second on a passed ball, moved to third on a gorundout and scored on Driggers’ hit.
Sloane Welsh went the distance for the win. She gave up two hits, walked two and struck out 14. Marion’s run was unearned.
