The Hartsville junior varsity soccer team played three home games recently but fell in each contest.
On Tuesday, March 17, the Foxes hosted Sumter and lost 2-0.
Hartsville head coach Daniel Tentes said the game featured two totally different halves of play. “The first half,” he said, “HHS played good, but it did not show involvement in the game. The second half was a great one for HHS. The team showed a real game, the ambition and devotion we need to see during a soccer game. Although we lost, we left the field with our heads up. The real accomplishment for the team was that even with two goals in disadvantage, they pushed at maximum until the last minute.”
On Thursday, March 19, the Foxes played host to West Florence, and the Knights defeated the Foxes 6-0.
On Monday, they hosted West Florence for the second time. The Knights got the best of the Foxes 2-0.
Tentes said the team is showing signs of improvement consistently. “We are a new team," he said, “and we improve a lot from game to game.”
The team will take a slight break in action and will return to play on April 8, when they travel to face Sumter at 6 p.m.
