The Lake City High School baseball team will play host to Socastee on Tuesday, after opening its Region VII-AAA schedule Friday with a 6-2 win over North Myrtle Beach.

The Panthers, now 7-0 overall and 1-0 in region play, took a 2-0 lead in the third.

Sheldon Robinson reached on a bunt, stole second, took third when the throw got away, and scored on a single by Shon Carson. Carson then stole second and scored from second on an error.

Lake City made it 3-0 in the fourth when Robinson reached on a three-base error and came home on a passed ball.

Shane Miles, 2-3 on the night, made the game 5-0 with a towering two-run blast in the fifth.

Reggie Weatherford went 2-3 on the night with an RBI and a stolen base.

After Tuesday’s Socastee game, the Panthers will travel to Georgetown on Friday.
