The man who was probably the greatest basketball player to ever play in the ACC spent his day in Myrtle Beach Friday.
David Thompson led NC State to the national championship in 1974 -- moving his school and his conference to the head of the college basketball world at a time when UCLA was a dynasty.
Thompson was at Phillips' Buffet on the bypass Friday to help promote the Salvation Army/Boys and Girls Club Annual 3 on 3 Streetball Tournament – News13 is a sponsor.
