Coaches converge on Grand Strand for AAU tournament

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The summer can be a college basketball coach’s busiest season.

Recruiting takes the coaches from one side of the country to the other.

This weekend, many coaches from all across that nation will converge on the Grand Strand for the two-day Big Shots AAU tourneys. USC's Darrin Horn, Clemson's Oliver Purnell, and former Coastal Carolina head coach and current Appalachian State head man were among almost one hundred coaches in attendance to watch some of the top talent play. 28 of the top 100 recruits in the country will take the court at some point between Thursday and Sunday. The majority of the games are being played at Socastee High School, St. James High School and Myrtle Beach High School.
