Great American Mud Race Series coming to Marion

Marion County's Carolina Entertainment Complex and MotoJam Racing are presenting the 2009 Great American Mud Race Series. July 11 will see the Street Truck Wars, where more than $6,000 in prize money will be given away. Tickets are $10; children 12 and under are free.

The Entertainment Complex features covered bleachers, restrooms, free parking, an opportunity to meet the drivers, RV camping. MRA and Lee County Hill & Hole rules apply.

The Complex was host to the ProBad Opener on June 13 and 14 and 2,000 people attended that event, organizers said.

For the July 11 race, organizers said they will feature five classes in the Hill n' Hole Category and five classes running in the "Flat Track" classes. The Truck Wars will be hosted at the site again on Aug. 8, 29 and 30 and Sept. 12. Finals will be Oct. 10 and 11.
