RedWolves blanked by Wilmington, 1-0

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Andrew Guerra’s two-out RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning lifted the Wilmington Sharks to a 1-0 win over the Florence RedWolves on Wednesday night.

Greg Bachman walked and stole second before being driven home by Guerra’s single to center off Kyle Deese (1-1).

In 2 2/3 innings, Deese gave up the one hit and the one walk while striking out three.

Florence starter Brad Raj scattered five hits over nine innings. He walked one and struck out eight.

The RedWolves, now 1-1 in the CPL South second-half standings, had six hits and stranded eight runners. Tyler Burnett was 2-for-3.

Florence will host the Columbia Blowfish tonight at 7:30 at Legion Field.
