COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Steve Spurrier's not waiting for spring to start South Carolina's early drills.
The school said Tuesday the Gamecocks will start spring practice March 3. The date is earlier than Spurrier has started in his past springs.
The Gamecocks will hold 15 practice sessions through April 11, when workouts conclude with the Garnet & Black Spring Game.
Spurrier will hold scrimmages on March 28 and April 4.
South Carolina will have five new assistant coaches and a new strength and conditioning coach this spring.
