PREP ROUNDUP: Mullins, Kingstree boys advance

MULLINS — Eric Smith scored 28 points and dished out eight assists as Mullins rallied from an eight point halftime deficit to defeat Silver Bluff 80-72 in the second round of the boys Class 2A playoffs Saturday.
The Aucs will travel to Kingstree on Wednesday with the winner moving on to the lower state title game.
Stacy Wilson added 17 points and Saquan McFarland added 16 points and 12 boards in the victory.
The Auctioneers, who trailed 49-41 at the half, used a 16-2 run to take the lead in the third quarter and maintained a 10-point lead for much of the fourth quarter.

KINGSTREE — Rashad Murphy scored 23 points as the Jaguars held Ridgeland scoreless during the final two-and-half minutes.
Derrick Wilson added 13 and Devin Bey scored 10 for the Jaguars.

LEXINGTON — The Red Foxes’ season came to end in a low-scoring affair on the road.

SPORTING CLAYS
TKA takes first place
ABBEVILLE — Led by Austin Mogy, the King’s Academy took first place in the sporting clays event at Rocky Knoll Club on Saturday.
Mogy collected 98 out of a possible 100 points and was the highest shooter in the event as the Lions totaled 273 to win the Senio advance division.
Rocky Creek finished second at 245.
Other TKA scores included Braxton Ivey (89) and Richmond Wilhoit (86).
The Lions’ other team finished with a score of 226 and was made up of Harrison Boatwright (79), Robert Baumgardner (78) and Clint Mims (69).
