DARLINGTON — Kierra Patterson scored 23 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Darlington girls defeated Hilton Head in the second round of the girls Class 3A high school basketball playoffs Thursday.
Patterson got plenty of help from her teammates as Antoinette McPhail and Jazz Green each posted double-doubles in the victory.
McPhail had 11 points and 11 rebounds while Green just missed a triple-double with 11 points, 10 boards and eight assists.
Jessica McCall came off the bench to score a season-high 17 points and grab eight rebounds for Darlington.
“I was a little concerned because I didn’t have much film on them,” Darlington coach Brian Rozelle said. “But the girls finished the first half strong and played well in the second half.
The Falcons will host Myrtle Beach, 74-56 winners over North Charleston, on Monday.
“The best thing is we got them at home. We got to defend our home court,” Rozzelle said.
