Local racers from Dillon Motor Speedway declared victory at the Dillon County Wellness Center after receiving rewards for their efforts during the 2008 racing season.
In late January, Dillon Motor Speedway hosted a racing awards banquet to honor drivers from each local racing division that competed during its second season. More than 200 people attended and the evening began with dinner, followed by the awards ceremony. Andy Locklair, DMS track announcer, served as Master of Ceremonies and Laughs by entangling his comedic sense of humor within the awards presentation.
The “top five” 2008 points winners from each racing division were supplied with a trophy or plaque and award money. A “Rookie of the Year” was also presented with an award for recognition of outstanding performance during the 2008 season.
Also, the wives of each division’s points leader received special gift bags from Missy’s Crafts as a token of appreciation for giving up most Saturday nights to spend with their husbands at the race track.
