Lady Panthers beat Kingstree

Three players combined to score more than half of Lake City’s total points Friday night, when the Lady Panthers defeated Kingstree 57-44.

Shanice Cooper scored 17 points for Lake City, while Kourtney McFadden and Tisheema Elmore added 10 each.

The Lady Panthers managed double digits in only one of the four quarters the night of Dec. 15, when they lost 64-30 to the Vic Country national select team, from Australia.

McFadden led the Lady Panthers with eight points on the night, and Victoria Hickson and Lateese Cooper scored six each.

The Lady Panthers, 5-2 on the season, are hosting the Lake City High Holiday Tournament, which began Monday. Lake City was scheduled to face Creek Bridge at 8 p.m. in the first round.
