Wingate, N.C. — Coker senior forward Mason Ambler scored a career-high 32 points as the visiting Cobras rallied for a 72-67 victory over Wingate on Monday in Cuddy Arena.
Ambler added nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals to his statistics ledger.
Wingate senior guard Larry Staley scored a career-high 26 points for the Bulldogs. Staley hit eight-of-12 field goals and nine-of-10 free throws.
With the win the Cobras improve to 4-4 overall, while Wingate falls to 5-4 overall.
Joining Ambler in double figures was Vatrick Thompson with 17 points, while Liam Kyle added seven points and seven rebounds and Thomas Wright also had seven points.
Coker will now break for the holidays, returning to the floor on Jan. 7 when they take on Conference Carolinas rival St. Andrews at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
