DARLINGTON — Torrential rain prevented Hartsville from utilizing its passing attack Friday night.
After setting several offensive records through the air in a rout of Camden last week, the Red Foxes used their ground game and defense to roll to a 31-14 victory over Darlington at Falcon Field.
“The weather most definitely played a factor. It was coming down pretty good,” said Hartsville coach Jeff Calabrese, whose squad improved to 2-0. “We saw some things in our running game and tried to play keep-away against Darlington.”
Dre Scott rushed for two scores. Quarterback Shawn Smith had an 85-yard touchdown run, and Jacob Cole recovered a fumble in the end zone.

Lamar 26, Andrews 13
ANDREWS — Trevor Norris threw for two touchdowns and Jerrod Dargan ran for another as Lamar earned its second win of the season.
Anthony McAllister and Matthew Mitchell each caught TD passes for the Silver Foxes.

Marlboro County 41, Cheraw 26
BENNETTSVILLE — Elliot Alford and Josh Blue combined for over 300 yards rushing and four touchdowns as the Bulldogs ran past rival Cheraw for their first win of the season.
Alford scored three times and threw a scoring pass to Jaquan Brantley in the win.
“We thought the rain was going to pass us, but it didn’t,” Marlboro County coach Dean Boyd said. “It was a sloppy game, and we made a lot of mistakes.
“If you make as many mistakes as we did and still get a win, that’s a good thing.”

Carvers Bay 25, Georgetown 7
GEORGETOWN — Tevin Richard rand for 127 yards and Davious Chestnut had two rushing touchdowns as Carvers Bay deafeated its county rival.
Chad O’Donald had an 18-yard fumble return for a touchdown for the Bears.

JOHNSONVILLE — One week after allowing 60 points in a blowout loss to Ashley Ridge, the Flashes forced four turnovers en route to a win over the Raiders.
Wes McCutcheon picked off two passes for Johnsonville, and Jazz Burgess returned an interception 93 yards for a score. Offensively, Kendrick Williams led the Flashes with 137 yards rushing.
Sheldon Thomas hauled in a 51-yard scoring pass from Malik Davis for Hannah-Pamplico’s only score.

Mullins 31, Green Sea-Floyds 6
Jim Donovan Reaves rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns as Mullins cruised to a victory over Green Sea-Floyds on Friday.
Sequan Washington produced the first points in the game with a 2-yard touchdown run at the 7:46 mark. Coday Buffkin added the extra point to set a 7-0 score.
Reaves followed with a 28-yard touchdown run at the 10:36 mark in the second quarter, giving Mullins a 13-0 lead.
Auctioneer running back George Page struck later with a 26-yard touchdown run to Mullins a 19-0 advantage.
With 2:02 remaining in the first half, Aucs quarterback B.J. Crawford connected with Page on a 10-yard pass into the endzone, fueling a 25-0 run.
Reaves broke for another touchdown on a 49-yard scamper for the Aucs final score with 3:19 to go in the third quarter.
The Trojans scored with 9:16 remaining in the game after Johnathan Campbell stripped away the football for a 2-yard score.
Lasaan Reaves led GSF with 46 yards.

Dillon-Lake View postponed
Heavy rains that moved into the Pee Dee forced the postponement of the Dillon-Lake View game Friday night.
The game will be made up Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

QUINBY — Lee Schurlknight hooked up with Justin Robinson for a 38-yard touchdown on the final play of the first half and Schurlknight then hit Clay Dixon for the 2-point conversion.
