Coker volleyball drops opening matches

Hickory, N.C. — Coker volleyball opened its season Friday with a pair of losses in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.
UNC Pembroke defeated the Cobras in straight sets 25-11, 25-17 and 25-21, while Lenoir-Rhyne beat Coker 28-26, 25-23 and 25-17.
In the first match, the Cobras were ledin kills by Cynallyhia Indriago, Kristin Teets and Lisa Ross with three each
Ross added eight digs and was followed by Indriago and Teets with eight digs apiece. Abbey Frame had six assists and Molly Bookhart addedfour assists.
Against L-R, Ross had five kills while Frame had nine assists and two blocks.
Coker returns to the court today and will take on Fayetteville State at 10 a.m.and Wingate at 2 p.m.
