TULSA, Okla. — A pair of Pee Dee golfers got off to rough starts in the first round of the U.S. Amateur on Monday.
Lake City’s Paul Woodbury shot a plus-11 81 and Coker’s Chris Marsh fired a 12-over 82 and are in danger of not making the cut to match play. The top 64 players after tomorrow’s second round of stroke play make it to match play. A score of plus-4 was the cutoff point following Monday’s first round.
Tim Jackson of Germantown, Tenn., leads after firing a 2-under 68. Only five players broke par in the first round.
