Marlboro rolls past Lamar in Pee Dee Football Classic

BENNETTSVILLE — The Pee Dee Football Classic jamboree was held Friday at McAlpine Stadium with 10 teams participating.

Host Marlboro County shut out Lamar 20-0 in the nightcap. Two-time defending Class A Division I state champion Chesterfield also posted a shut out with a 21-0 win over Hartsville.

Earlier in the day, Dillon and Central played to a scoreless tie in a rematch of last year’s Class 2A state championship.

Manning edged Cheraw 7-6 and Lakewood earned a 26-8 victory over Carvers Bay in the opening game.

The regular season begins Friday.
