There's a new young star budding in "The Backyard." Freshman Mychal Moody is an electric young quarterback that may have some great years to come at Conway. But head coach Chuck Jordan doesn't believe that may happen this year. At Q-B anyway.
"Mychal is taking it all in right now, he's getting overloaded right now," said Jordan.
Jordan will go with senior D.J. Samuel at starting quarterback. Samuel played backup to Dakota Derrick and Ryne Hardwick over the past two years, and is more mobile then both of his predecessors. Moody instead will play a little running back, a little receiver, and probably get a snap or two at quarterback.
The biggest problem for the Tigers will be figuring out their offensive line. Conway graduated three lineman to the next level, and had only one returning starter, until that player quit in the summer.
But Coach Jordan is excited about the skill players that Conway is bringing to the table, especially their electric young freshman.
