Entries being accepted for Mayor's Cup Amateur Golf Championships

MYRTLE BEACH - Entries are being accepted for the Mayor’s Cup Amateur Golf Championships for men and women.

According to a release from the city of Myrtle Beach, the 54-hole stroke play tournaments will determine the best male and female golfers on the Grand Strand.

City residency is not required.

For men, the Mayor’s Cup will be held October 9-11 at Whispering Pines Golf Course, with the best individual score determining the winner. The tournament is open to all male golfers, 18 and up, and is limited to the first 144 paid entries.

This year, three divisions are offered, including championship, regular and senior/super-senior.

For women, the Mayor’s Cup will be held October 30-November 1 at Whispering Pines. Again, the best individual score will determine the winner.

The tournament is open to all female golfers, 18 and up, and is limited to the first 136 paid entries.

Senior and super-senior divisions are available.

Registration is just $150 and includes three rounds of golf, practice balls, lunch each day and a tournament package.
