Congratulations to the Socastee High Lacrosse team.
The sport is relatively new to South Carolina and Socastee and the Braves are in the running for a state championship.
Socastee will play in the state semifinals Friday against Wando.
Two of the players have made the state senior all-star game.
Those two are long-stick mid-fielder Ryan Harter and goaltender John Perrucci, who is also in the running for First Team All State and South Carolina Goaltender of the Year.
Plus, Perrucci is one of only five players statewide to be nominated for All America honors.
Matt Fox is nominated for coach of the year.
All of these awards and honors are the first in school history.
