HARTSVILLE — Cody Mincey pitched a complete game for the Hartsville Red Foxes on Friday, allowing one earned run on six hits.
But he saved his best for last.
Mincey’s two-run double down the left field line in the bottom of the seventh inning propelled the Red Foxes to a 3-2 win over North Stafford on the third day of the Southeastern Baseball Classic at Jimmy White Park.
The Red Foxes tallied just four hits but made them count. Mincey struck out four and kept Hartsville within 2-1 until the final inning.
Dylan Usher, Alex Gray and Seth Lowe had the other hits for Hartsville and Usher drove in the other run.
The comeback win was the norm of the day as all four games were decided in the final at bat.
Trailing by a run, Northwest Guilford scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a 5-4 victory over West Florence.
Paul VI rallied to beat Sumter 6-5 in the final inning and Gaffney scored three runs in the bottom half of the seventh to beat Lakewood 7-6 and advance to the championship game.
West Florence will take on Lakewood in the 11 a.m. game while Sumter and North Stafford will face off at 1:30 p.m.
Hartsville faces Northwest Guilford at 4 p.m. and Paul VI and Gaffney will compete in the championship at 6:30 p.m.
